Instagram is a great platform for many businesses and nonprofits. It allows you to share photos and videos with your followers, and can help increase brand awareness.
Of course, nobody’s perfect. It can be embarrassing when you post something on Instagram and then later realize you messed something up. Maybe you made a typo, or maybe the photo just isn’t as good as you thought it was. Whatever the reason, sometimes you need to delete a post from Instagram.
Let’s look at how to delete an Instagram post quickly and easily!
Why would you want to delete an Instagram post?
Although you may be eager to delete a post that you regret, you should think long and hard about doing so if it’s already received engagement. Once a post has been liked or commented on, people will begin to expect future content from you. If you delete a post that’s received engagement, it can potentially make you look bad to people that have already seen it.
Deleting your Instagram post
The process is the same whether you’re using the app on your phone or logged into instagram.com on. your computer.
To delete an Instagram post, follow these directions:
- Find your post you want to delete.
- Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner.
- Select “Delete.”
- Confirm that you want to delete the post.
That’s all there is to it!
Of course, if you change your mind after deleting a post, you can undelete it for 30 days after deletion by going to your activity and tapping on the “Recently Deleted” option. From there, you can choose to show the post again. Alternatively, you can also choose to archive posts, which will store them in a folder only you can view.
